ABSTRACT

It is hard to imagine achievement of global health goals and universal health coverage without a knowledgeable and effective health workforce. The formation of healthcare personnel potential is a lengthy and responsible process. The corresponding strategies of different countries are aimed at creating a high-quality and effective human resources potential and its retainment in the system. Forming and maintaining high-quality human resources is also a priority within the Armenian healthcare system. The plans of the Armenian government encompass a range of activities focused on enhancing the standardization and control of human resources in healthcare. In our work, we addressed one of these activities – the introduction of licensing system for medical professionals in Armenia. Our survey aimed to gather and analyze the opinions and suggestions of medical professionals, representatives from educational and administrative sectors, regarding the implementation of the system. This, in our view, can assist decision-makers in the process planning and implementation. Additionally, our work delved into organization of analogous processes both in Armenia and across different countries and time periods.
