ABSTRACT
Epilepsy is one of the most frequently encountered neurological disorders with devastating impact on health and lives of the patients and their families. With many gaps in the diagnosis and treatment, this field needs solutions for improvement of the patients’ health-related quality of life. On the other hand, artificial intelligence is rapidly expanding in different fields of medicine, offering effective solutions and creating grounds for a completely new type of improvement. In this review we address this general trend in relation to epilepsy, its diagnostic modalities. As both fields develop their unity, it creates more chances to have better understanding of the cause and more efficient use of advanced treatment techniques for refractory epilepsy.
